GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TAKES 2ND PLACE IN MANHATTAN INVITATIONAL

The La Salle Girls Cross Country team finished second in the Reebok Manhattan Inviational's Eastern States Race at Van Cortland Park, New York, on Saturday. Karina Tavares and Sheridan Wilbur finished fifth and sixth, respectively in the prestigious race.

Fayetteville-Manilus High School of New York took the team title in the Eastern States Championship Race. Fayetteville finished with 48 points to La Salle's 81. Fayetteville's scorers finished in 2, 9, 10, 11, and 16th place. La Salle's runners finished in 5, 6, 13, 22, and 35th place. Besides Tavares (5th) and Wilbur (6th), other La Salle scorers were Eliza Rego (13th), Audrey O'Neill (22nd), and Cianna Lynch (35th).
