LA SALLE GIRLS BASKETBALL FINISHES OFF SEASON WITH A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

The La Salle Girls Basketball team defeated St. Mary's Bay View 53-49 Saturday afternoon at the Ryan Center to win the 2012 RIIL State Championship. Mikayla Murphy and Priscilla Dunphy each hit two free throws in the final minute to give the Lady Rams their four point margin of victory. The girls had entered the game with a 21-0 record against Rhode Island competition this year, but Bay View also entered the game undefeated in the state, so everyone expected a great game. Neither team disappointed.
