Heidi (Lamoriello '91) Sammartino To Run In Boston Marathon

We recently heard from La Salle Academy grad Heidi (Lamoriello ‘91) Sammartino letting her fellow grads know that she will be running her first marathon - the Boston Marathon this April as a member of the Massachusetts General Hospital Marathon team.

“During my time at La Salle I played on the varsity soccer and softball teams but running was never my thing,” said Heidi.  “ I was given an opportunity to run on the Massachusetts General team and couldn't say no.  I am helping raise money for their pediatric oncology department and couldn't have thought of a more worthy cause.”

Heidi just completed her first 10-mile run recently and she said that thinking of the children she would be helping was her motivation.

“My parents along with my experiences growing up, especially my four years at La Salle taught me so much about helping others and giving back.  I am blessed to be a mother of two wonderful children and hope to share these values with them,” she wrote in her note.
